Solved - This Apple ID Has Not Yet Been Used in the iTunes Store

Updated: By David Rothstein

Apple ID hasn’t been used

“I have such a problem, when I try to download some kind of program, the message appears. This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store.” From discussions.apple.com.

Don’t worry if you also encounter this problem. It means your Apple ID hasn’t been fully activated because you never download or purchase an app from the App/iTunes Store, just adding payment details to your Apple account and then getting it resolved. If the error still shows up, just update iOS version in Settings or use iOS Repair Tuner to troubleshoot some system glitches.

Fix 1: Check and Update Your Payment Information

Try to log in with the Apple ID on your Mac and then use the account to download a free app in the App Store. If the “This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store” pops up again, check the Payment & Shipping settings on iPhone or Mac.

Step 1: Open Setting > Click the Apple ID name > Choose Media & Purchases.

Notes: You can also directly hit the Review button when the error occurs and then reenter the account information if asked.

Click Media & Purchases

Step 2: Click Continue and Wait for some time. Choose View Account > Tap on Manage Payments > Enter the payment information.

Alternatively, click Payment & Shipping under the Apple ID profile. Choose a payment method: enter a credit card or select None.

Step 3: After confirming the details are correct, tap on Done.

Fix 2: Verify the Email Address at the Apple Website

After creating a new Apple ID, you are required to complete the verification of the email address or the phone number. Otherwise, it will stop you from buying any product in the iTunes Store and at the same time the error shows up on the screen.

Step 1: Visit the Apple Account website and sign in with your Apple ID.

Step 2: Find Sign-In and Security > Choose Email & Phone Numbers.

Verify the email address

Step 3: Ensure the email address has been verified. If you no longer use it, you can add another email address.

Fix 3: Sign Out of the Apple ID and Sign Back In

The third way is to temporarily sign out of your Apple ID once you find the account still can’t be linked to the iTunes Store. After that, sign in again. Then the Apple ID can be recognized by iTunes.

Step 1: Launch Settings > Tap on the Apple ID. Scroll down to the bottom and then click Sign Out. After a while, sign back in.

Click Turn On Two-Factor Authentication

Step 2: Open App Store and try to download an app. Ensure there is no notification about “This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store.”

Fix 4: Use iOS Repair Tuner to Fix Software Bugs

Maybe there are software bugs halting the app download, so update iTunes or the iOS version to the latest. Alternatively, use Cocosenor iOS Repair Tuner to quickly fix all system or iTunes errors without data loss.

Step 1: Download and install the program on a Windows/Mac computer. After that, ensure your PC has installed the iTunes app.

Step 2: After launching iOS Repair Tuner, choose System Repair > Click Standard Mode > Tap on Start.

Choose System Repair

Step 3: Connect the iPhone to the computer using a USB cable. Then click Next.

Step 4: It will automatically recognize your device version. And you just hit the Download button to get the firmware package.

Tap on Download

Step 5: Once the download is completed, click Repair on the screen. After some time, it will notify you about “iPhone repairs successfully”.

Click Repair
